REBEKAH WIGGINS BIO

Rebekah Wiggins is a multi-hyphenate creator leading the film industry as a director and intimacy coordinator. She focuses on telling unflinching stories from underrepresented perspectives through innovative and non-conformist approaches. Wiggins directs and produces gritty, female-centric narratives, exploring themes of isolation, complex family bonds, unconditional love, and transformation and transcendence through grief. Her compassionate directing brings the films Clownfish and Ushering the Light (Prime Video) to the screen, as well as the gothic western series Vicious Kin and the LGBTQIA+ series Pretty Boi, both currently in development.

With eighteen years of experience in critical film industry roles, Wiggins excels in building cinematic stories from all angles. Her expertise as an intimacy coordinator ensures emotionally and physically safe filmmaking environments, skillfully manifesting a director’s vision. Notable credits include the neo-noir film Love Lies Bleeding (A24) and the series American Primeval (Netflix).

As an actor and acting teacher, Wiggins brings a deep understanding of character and the human condition to her work. She founded the acting school Southwest Scene Works and is a certified Chubbuck Acting Technique teacher who specializes in helping actors connect their emotional experiences to their characters. 

Her accolades include screenwriting honors from the Austin Film Festival, Best Director awards from the LA Independent Women Film Awards, and the Berlin International Art Film Festival.

Wiggins's approach to filmmaking is collaborative and supportive, allowing her to fulfill directorial visions with tender intensity.

 WHAT’S NEXT…

Rebekah just wrapped production on a short film in the LGBTQIA+ genre, Fall Risk. This short film, produced, written, and directed by Wiggins, delves into a poignant journey of self-discovery for Quinn, a transgender recovering addict who returns to his hometown in Virginia to care for his ailing mother all while unraveling the threads of love and acceptance as he confronts the ghosts of his past.
